Chongqing Medical University (CQMU), initially known as Chongqing Medical College, was established in 1956, growing out of Shanghai First Medical College (the present Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University). With almost 60 years of advancement, CQMU has turned into a noteworthy open medical university that is jointly administrated and supported by the Ministry of Education of China, the Ministry of Health of China, and the Chongqing Municipal Government. The college has a comprehensive arrangement of academic training, from Bachelor to Master, Doctor and Postdoctoral in pharmaceutical and other related fields. In 2013, CQMU ranked 6th among all medical universities in China. As to instruction and discipline competitiveness, our college ranked 12th among all Chinese universities offering medical disciplines.
The college has two campuses, Yuanjiagang Campus and Jinyun Campus, covering a region of 2.02 km2.
